2009 Academic Progress Reports
By Pete Fiutak. CollegeFootballNews.com.
Welcome to the Academic Progress Reports, better known as the APR, for 2009, taking a look at the classes from 2003-2004 to 2007-2008. Every Division I sports team calculates its APR each academic year, based on the eligibility, retention and graduation of each scholarship student-athlete. Teams that score below 925 (this is the Mendoza line ... if you can't hit this, you're just not trying) on their four-year rate and have a student leave school academically ineligible can lose up to 10 percent of their scholarships through immediate penalties. Teams can also face historically based penalties for poor academic performance over time.
Below are the rankings for the FBS teams based on their APR and with our scoring for how they graded out.
- 1. Stanford 984
- 2. Air Force 983
- T3. Duke 980
- T3. Rutgers 980
- 5. Rice 979
- 6. Navy 978
- 16. Army 967
- 22. TCU 962
- T51. Texas A&M 946
- T65. Texas 939
- T89. Baylor 930
- 120. UAB 875

AOG Directory
AOG Board of Directors has
decided your Association of Graduates will offer a more useful, secure and
cost-effective means of disseminating the annual USAFA Register of
Graduates. AOG members are now be able to go to the AOG website,
www.usafa.org, to access the Register in one of two ways. Members can click
on the Directory link to get the most current, up-to-date information on
graduates and members stored in the AOG database, or, for those who prefer
the traditional printed Register, can download a PDF version similar to the
formerly printed format. The PDF format is fully searchable and provides
full graduate history versus the abbreviated histories in previous versions.
Membership to the AOG is not a requirement for updating your profile.
For your privacy, a username and password will be required for member access
which is transmitted over an encrypted connection similar to those used to
transmit credit card information when making online purchases.
In addition to increasing accuracy and security of personal information,
this is also a fiscally responsible move, saving the AOG printing and
mailing costs. |
